Carrickfergus (Irish Folk Song) – Lyre Harp Tutorial

Learn how to play the traditional Irish folk song “Carrickfergus” on the lyre harp. The notes are written in the video and can also be downloaded on my Patreon page as a PDF file alongside the lyrics.

Tuning instructions:

This is a 16-string lyre in the video. Tune the strings to the following notes:
G, A, B, C D E F G A B C’ D’ E’ F’ G’ A’

or sometimes written as:
G3 A3 B3 C4 D4 E4 F4 G4 A4 B4 C5 D5 E5 F5 G5 A5

To play using both hands:

Just like in the video, the dominant hand plays the melody while the non-dominant hand handles the bass notes. Practice each part separately before combining them to create a cohesive performance.

Have fun playing! 😃
