Learn how to play “Concerning Hobbits” in this tutorial. This song came from the movie “The Hobbit”, in which the dwarves of Middle Earth sang it with deep, resonant vocals. It was one of the first songs I taught myself. As you can probably tell from the video, I was pretty clueless when it came to navigating the lyre harp, lol. 😂
Tuning instructions:
This is a 16-string lyre in the video. Tune the strings to the following notes:
G, A, B, C D E F G A B C’ D’ E’ F’ G’ A’
or sometimes written as:
G3 A3 B3 C4 D4 E4 F4 G4 A4 B4 C5 D5 E5 F5 G5 A5
To play using both hands:
Simply assign the low notes to one hand and the high notes to the other.
